Undaunted, I Press On (Fluxx post)
Aug. 19th, 2014 05:52 pmI've made a couple of minor tweaks to the Fluxxlock deck (reflected in the original post, for those keeping score). The deck is very big and I notice with amusement that every time I tweak it, I take out a card or two. It started playtesting at 128 cards and is now down to 113. (A standard Fluxx deck is 100, give or take 5.) As it gets expanded for future episodes, some older cards may be retired. I've learned that Fluxx decks don't go over 20ish keepers and creepers for a reason!
I also reverse-engineered the Fluxxlock deck, took out some of the more fandom-specific goals and actions, and came up with fill-in-the-blanks for an 89-card deck. It has all the actions that spice up the Sherlock and official decks waiting for a new name, and then things like "Goal 1: Keeper 1 + Keeper ___".
The idea was to make it easier for me & my friends to build a basic deck for any fandom by just filling in the blanks. Literary Holmes and Welcome to Night Vale are just two tickling my brain for attention. I'm going to beggar myself buying expansion packs!
Zombie Fluxx has 15 each of keepers/creepers, 21 goals, 1 ungoal, 23 actions, and 24 rules... two of which I've permanently thrown out, so call it 22 rules
The generideck, so far, has 15 keepers/creepers, 20 goals, 2 ungoals, 22 actions, 17 rules and 1 surprise card. I don't intend to post this skeleton, but if you know me, go ahead and ask, I'll send it to you.
Fluxxlock, in case you're wondering, is currently at 21 keepers/creepers, 22 goals, 5 ungoals, 26 actions, 17 rules and 1 surprise card. Although skimpy in the rules area compared to official Fluxx, it has proven playable, probably because of the extra actions.
I am so damned obsessed with building this game!!
