I am so sorry. It's so hard to lose pets. The only thing I can offer you is that you'll be able to remember them with love rather than sadness in the future.

It's *very* hard right now. Mickey was always on the bathroom sink, demanding I run water for her. I'm still clearing a space for her, waiting for her to yell...
It helped when one of the people at knit night reminded me that if the vet thought I was doing it too early, he'd've said and fought me.
He didn't.

I'm very sorry for your loss. You didn't just lose a pet but a member of your family, and that's always difficult to deal with. *hugs*
I got them both almost as soon as I moved in; first DB, then Mickey to be his companion. (He was not amused.)
Um, is there something blue connecting those two bowls, or is the hedgehog wearing a bow tie?
*hugs*
It's so sad to lose a beloved pet. My first cat (first of my own, as opposed to cats I grew up with) died from kidney disease, so I know how devastating - and sudden - it can be.
You gave him a loving home and a happy life. That's worth it all :)

This was very sudden. She'd been throwing up a *lot* but we thought it was new food and hairballs, and were trying to fix it accordingly.
And then the test results came back.

Oh, I'm so sorry, Nea. I fondly remember Mickey on the bathroom sink.
That was her defining trait! I wonder how long I'm going to expect her to be there.
My condolences.
We're worried about our Fafhrd -- he's losing weight and looking old and frail. And we're afraid that if we take him in to the vet, we're going to be told that he's got something that will take thousands of dollars to fix, and at that point we'll have no choice but to say goodbye.

If Fafhrd's only losing weight, it may just be thyroid disease. The medicine for that isn't too $$$; DB had it for months and months and was doing fine... until we noticed the tumor on his chin.
I'm so, so sorry. You must be missing them both awfully right now.
I am. Fortunately, there are still 3 cats in the house, so it's not echoingly empty.
Oh no! *bigsquishyPershugs*
I'm so sorry...

I am so sorry, but you did the right thing. We waited too long when our cat's kidneys got worse - it didn't do him any favours. *hugs*
I held all the ferrets too long, and still feel guilty. But Mickey was so much younger than DB.
::hugs:: I'm so sorry for your loss. Can I help?
Thank you for the offer, but to be honest, I don't know what helps. Snuggling the crap out of the three we've got left, maybe...
Thank you.
From 5 to 3. It's quite a change to adjust to.

It was cancer with Chani and Orion; Orion went in his sleep after a night of restlessness, but we took Chani to the clinic where Dr. Crow helped her cross over. I still cry sometimes, wishing we'd caught it sooner, maybe we could have tried a different treatment....

We always second-guess ourselves, don't we? Even when we can't fix anything, we feel we ought to be able to.
I'm so very sorry. Knowing when to let go is always hard. We lost Satin (in pic) to a stroke at 19.
I'm glad I got to meet Mickey.

19 is good innings for a cat, you obviously took excellent care of her!
Mickey was quite the character. We'll have to see if we can get you introduced to Gytha-the-terminally-shy someday.

I'm so very sorry to hear that.(My FLV+ kitten has been in splendid apparent health for the past three months, so I've started to relax a bit about him, but now I'm worried that the supposedly 8-year-old bunny may be older than that, since he's starting to appear arthritic and has been having bladder issues for the past year.)

Fingers crossed for your kitten and bunny!
I'm sorry, dude. They both look gorgeous in that pic. *hugs*
In their heyday, they were quite the pair.
