They're both gone now. Mickey (left) was diagnosed with kidney disease.

I am so sorry. It's so hard to lose pets. The only thing I can offer you is that you'll be able to remember them with love rather than sadness in the future.

It's *very* hard right now. Mickey was always on the bathroom sink, demanding I run water for her. I'm still clearing a space for her, waiting for her to yell...

It helped when one of the people at knit night reminded me that if the vet thought I was doing it too early, he'd've said and fought me.

He didn't.

It's so sad to lose a beloved pet. My first cat (first of my own, as opposed to cats I grew up with) died from kidney disease, so I know how devastating - and sudden - it can be.

You gave him a loving home and a happy life. That's worth it all :)

This was very sudden. She'd been throwing up a *lot* but we thought it was new food and hairballs, and were trying to fix it accordingly.

And then the test results came back.

My condolences.

We're worried about our Fafhrd -- he's losing weight and looking old and frail. And we're afraid that if we take him in to the vet, we're going to be told that he's got something that will take thousands of dollars to fix, and at that point we'll have no choice but to say goodbye.

If Fafhrd's only losing weight, it may just be thyroid disease. The medicine for that isn't too $$$; DB had it for months and months and was doing fine... until we noticed the tumor on his chin.

It was cancer with Chani and Orion; Orion went in his sleep after a night of restlessness, but we took Chani to the clinic where Dr. Crow helped her cross over. I still cry sometimes, wishing we'd caught it sooner, maybe we could have tried a different treatment....

I'm so very sorry to hear that.(My FLV+ kitten has been in splendid apparent health for the past three months, so I've started to relax a bit about him, but now I'm worried that the supposedly 8-year-old bunny may be older than that, since he's starting to appear arthritic and has been having bladder issues for the past year.)
