Ginmar, did you know that the Father's Rights movement has got big articles in the Washington Post and NY Times today?

Also, who saw the preview for The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe last night? I missed it and Mo wasn't interested enough to look. It's the SFX I'm most worried about; I keep having PTSD-style flashbacks to the BBC productions with the bad insertions and the panomime lion. Bad SFX for Narnia makes the baby Aslan cry.

Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?:
I pitched I Love a Mystery Newsletter about reviewing and haven't heard back. I mentioned this offhandedly to the editor of Reviweing the Evidence and said I'd look for another review site. She said that there probably wasn't one, that the reason RtE was started was because there was a paucity of genre review sites. This surprises me, because I know there are tons of ones for SF&F; I must have had a dozen URLs on that list that I (damnit) lost.

So now am flirting with idea of setting up review site of my own, but not sure of what the hook would or should be. I know where I can get webspace 'n' stuff - I already looked that up for the Public Domain Gazette - but am not sure how to, or if I want to, set up shop. It wouldn't be fair to directly compete with RtE, so I'd need a unique spin on it, like only reviewing cross-genre or supernatural mysteries, or I don't know what. It might not be just mysteries.

Also not sure of how I want to set this up, or how to set a review site up, but... hmmm.

Anybody want in on the ground floor of a reviewing site?

What's Going on Today:
I've given my Big River usher spot to Smap, who will be going with Mo to see the Civil Service fair on the mall before going to see the play. I'm flirting with seeing Hitchhiker's Guide or just staying here and passing clots the size of kidneys. I do not enjoy being a girl.</lj-cut)

I found it. Why do mainstream news organizations bother with these freaks? Must write letter to the editor now.
