Cutting Back

It takes me up to an hour to read my friends list from overnight - longer if I've been offline for a full day. This was fine when I was between deadlines, but not so fine when I'll be working hard and have limited time to surf for the sake of surfing.

So nothing personal, but I'm pruning the f-list. It doesn't mean I'm mad at anyone or have a secret agenda, it just means that I'm trying to get things down to a manageable level of readability until I know where I stand in the new position. After a couple of weeks I'll know if I can add names back or have to cut back further.

We were gone for 5 days, and I'm having to back up 200 posts just to catch up with the people I read -- forget about the communities! So I definitely sympathize.

Yeah, I'm up at skip=100 if I miss a single day. I can't keep that kind of thing up - thing is, I'm already at close to the bone. I don't really want to give up more, darnit!
