Hmmm. Not a long comment this time, because we're on the cusp of the resolution, and well, what can you say outside "I wish it were tomorrow"?

The one-liners are once again excellent, although much scarier this time: "You are in my every nightmare." "A man who can't die has nothing to fear." "The first responsibility is to protect the best interests of this country, right?" "This goes for you people listening in on the wire." "We've been expecting you."

"Where'd it get 'em from?" I appreciate that it was the American who cut to the chase. But how come UNIT guy isn't sitting next to the American General anymore? I don't even see him in the room.

I wonder how many people will be using 325000 as a lottery number.

And then the big issue: Ianto. I was wrong, they did kill him off. However, I'm not going to write him off as really most sincerely dead and gone until and unless he doesn't resurrect at some point tomorrow due to some handwave or another. Yes, it's noble and all... but after the end of last season it's pretty derivative too, and Torchwood has already been whittled down past the point of survivability.

My guess? Jack, Rhys and Gwen save the day, Jack says "It's over, we're shutting down" and walks away, letting the other two have a "normal life" together.

Until the next crisis occurs, whereupon Gwen will open the front door and find Tosh & Owen standing there in dark suits and ties:

"We're puttin' the band back together."
"We're on a mission from God."

That would be kinda cool. And if the latter part ever happened, I think some people would fall to their knees and bless you and your progeny.

Odd thought--does Jack's body now have an immunity to the virus?

Doesn't it have an immunity to everything anyway?

BTW, mentioned your theory on another journal. It's proven popular, especially the last bit. :D

I don't know if it's so much an immunity as a "reset". It's something I've actually thought about quite a bit, god knows why.

I have a sneaking suspicion I know where Day Five is going, and if I'm right it'll reinforce Torchwood as the "Utter Bastards" program. Because the aliens do have a very obvious weakness in their grand plan, and I'd be surprised if it wasn't exploited.

The bad part is that I can't do certain illegal activities to find out whether I'm right until Sunday/Monday. Please feel free to spoil my fanny off today. :)

Note, am writing this before seeing the final episode: all the sniffing and the column of light is reminding me a great deal of Quatermass, and we know how that ended.

ext_3690: Ianto Jones says, "Won't somebody please think of the children?!?" (innuendo)

I've been having the recurring thought that the deus ex machina this time is going to be an AU crashing in and bringing its versions of Tosh and Owen back with it...
