All Hail Cecil
Mar. 5th, 2014 08:23 pmSo, last night I pretty much went straight from work downtown to see Night Vale live.
We were asked to keep spoilers off the internet, so I shan't talk about the plot. I will say that Cecil was having the time of his life getting members of the audience to do things; he had power over us and he was going to use it!
M and I got into a metro car and had settled down to read, but then I realized that a group of people were in the back of the car talking about Desert Bluffs. So we went over to hang out.
When we got out, we met with a couple of the other Benfesters. Not so much talk about Night Vale, but we were sort of talking about
copperbadge's latest post and what was weirder: that fandom needs a tag called "consentacle" or that we all instantly knew what it meant.
The line was halfway down the side of the building when we got out, so we found our place among the glow clouds (my personal favorite was the glowing one on a stick with toy animals falling from it) and the Kevins and the assorted Cecils. (Few Carloses - Carlii? - this time) By the time the doors opened - and they opened half an hour early to keep us from freezing to death - the line had wrapped around the back of the building and was starting on the next side.
Merch was surprisingly limited. Choice of 2 t-shirts, the tour poster, and some CDs from the weather artist.
The fun, however, was unlimited.
