The blog owner has decided to limit pageviews to invited people only. Google owns Blogspot, so presumably only people with Gmail accounts can be invited to view the owner's blog.
I cannot wrap my head around this at all. What is the point of pointing people to a "free" pattern that is neither free nor available? Why not make it a Ravelry download or sell it?
I remember knitting it and liking it, but did I print it out? Nooooooo....
The only thing I can think of is that this way (ironically) Google won't index the blog post and direct link to the pattern. If the pattern author wants to collect all the hits for the pattern -- for advertising or other reasons -- this is the way to do it. (Not that it isn't annoying, mind you.)
I have a gmail account and i cannot access the free pattern. The blog is private and and one must be invited. Otherwise I would have posted a screenshot for you! ;)
