I'm squeeing fit to knock bats out of the sky! THIS is what it's all about! I've been yelling "Yes!" so enthusiastically and so often that it probably sounds like I'm doing something quite different than watching TV alone.

Yes! Yes!! YES!!! )

Is there somewhere that's doing screenshots of the episodes? (Besides the SJWAS, I mean.) Because I need several new wallpapers now.

And another question - how the heck does Sarah water those plants up in the rafters? (Not a spoiler, it's just part of the set dressing that I noticed.)

The Sarah Jane Wardrobe Appreciation Society has spoilers for the SJA audio The Thirteenth Stone. I'm totally looking forward to getting my copy. 'Did you do medieval history?' 'I've certainly "done" medieval,' I said. BWA!

Fic Recs from the morning roundup:
The Knitting Lesson This is an S3 version a knitting story (see my unrelated Knit Two Together), where this time it's Jack with the needles - having done recuperative knitting in the wars - and teaching Martha to knit. Not to mention begging to show her his balaclava.

[livejournal.com profile] tikiera had a great idea in the thread of my last call for recipes - making a fruit and meat rollup with Pillsbury crescent rolls. I made one with cream cheese, ham, and a big chunk of apple in the middle and OMG! SO GOOD! (And points to Pillsbury, because there was a distinct lack of high fructose corn syrup or unpronounceable ingredients... although I'm trying not to think about the number of calories.)

Said rollups were fab straight out of the oven, reheated very nicely the next day, and were also good cold.

I'm totally doing this again. And with different ingredients too, as the result is so nicely bento-able.

Thing is - I can synthesize, I can analyze, I can build new airy beautiful things out of a few bits, bobs, and half-remembered things, but sadly to say, I don't actually have much in the way of imagination. I can think of four fillings:

1) Ham, apple, cheese (dang, that cream cheese was good!)
2) Turkey & cranberry (a dash of stuffing optional)
3) Cream cheese & asparagus
4) Something mimicking pizza

What would/do you put in?

If [livejournal.com profile] tamnonlinear isn't on your f-list, then go read her retakes on the Tam Lin tale, which run from howlingly funny to completely horrifying.

It's a Bollywood musical number, which means lots of dancing, repetitive lyrics, bright colors, and a length of almost 7 minutes.

It's also a condom ad. No, I'm not kidding. [livejournal.com profile] filkertom had the link. Yes, you did see what you think you saw at the 2:28 mark. And in case you missed it, they're really, REALLY explicit at 5:44.

This is pretty much the definition of not worksafe. And yet, I share the... love.

The end of the spam today, as I'm about to go to bed.

It's been bothering me that I haven't crossed anything off the list of things to do for months except for one fic. On the other hand, I can't say that I *haven't* been accomplishing things this year. If nothing else, the Sunday 7 and the morning yoga have been amazing additions to my life, and the bento collection will probably have paid for itself entirely in another few of months. (The trick is to stop buying bentos.)

So, I'm doing this differently. For 2008, I'm going to list 12 major tasks. The list of craft concepts goes. The "I'm thinking about" list stays, because it's a good reminder of things that I don't want to forget. And this monthly post stays, because I find it useful to keep my mind on my goals. (Honestly, if you go back through the "resolutions" tag, you'll see what a mess I was when I started. Wow. What a difference! Gives me hope that there will be a day when I'm more or less on top of things.)
